Sunday, January 28, 2007 The worship during today's english service was wonderful man!!! Could really feel the presence of God in the Promise, our main sanctury. The fast songs were great and it really make me feel like dancing even though I was behind the drums! Fast songs were Praise You With The Dance (New song by Casting Crowns), Haha-Too bad we never do the Irish Dance Solo, and My Redeemer Lives. Slow songs were Love You So Much and I See The Lord. Personally, love the moment where we quietly went into the chorus of I See The Lord. It was so great to hear the whole church singing and that feeling is still in my heart. It was just wonderful! PRAISE YOU WITH THE DANCE VERSE I will sing to the Lord And I will lift my voice For You have heard my cry I will sing to the Lord And I will lift my hands For You have brought me out of the pit For You have brought me out of the pit CHORUS: And I'll sing glory, hallelujah I lift Your name on high And I'll sing holy, 'cause You're worthy I'll praise You with the dance (Repeat) I will praise You with the dance I will praise You with the dance Friday, January 26, 2007 Yea... Congrats to Sonny and Kathy on thier wedding on 25 jan 2007!!! Their wedding was cool man <--- Don't know why but yea!!! At Four Seasons Hotel Lolz, my father took quite a while to find the place... Wahaha! Suppose to sit at table 5 but then like the people there out of my age group... Hehe Yeah, got chee kong and gerald but scared I still later get bored... So Adelene Yee and I agreed to switch sit... Haha!!!! So end up at Table 3 where the real youths are man!!! On that table were Sing Tee, Vernice, Midori, Li Lian, Joel, Joelle, Joy and David. Yea!!! The youth! Our table was like crazy man... Haha, loved it. Then we invited the WHOA wave! LOLz. It was created when we were turing the centre glass plane or whatever you call it and it almost tip over David's glass of F&N orange so we went like whoa! Then suddenly Joy accidentally spill over her beloved pickle mango so all of us went WHOA!!! Haha. Dinner was great! Think it was a 8 course meal. Some Pics: I Love The Saxophone Yea hear me out loud!!! I love the saxophone! Maybe a love hiddenly pass down from my bro. Today saw Ee Hern and Marilyn practising the Alto Sax. So I just sat in to listen and chew my lunch <--Lolz. Then when Ee Hern went for lunch, I asked permission to play his sax. Haha, then tried playing and whoa--->I can produce sound!!! Lolz Thanks to Marilyn who then thought me the different fingering and then I were able to play some part of GR Selection, the rehearsal K part. But I still need to learn how to breathe... Lolz Wednesday, January 24, 2007 We tried this piece in band today. The piece is actually very nice. Hope can get chance to complete the piece. But I still think Aidross, our student conductor, conducted very fast...Lolz Anyway got some info on this piece The Festive Overture in A major is a popular piece of music by the great Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. It was originally written in 1954 for a concert at the Bolshoi Theatre, to commemorate the 37th anniversary of the October Revolution (which took place in 1917). For the concert band transcription transcribed by Donald Hunsburger, the key was changed to A-flat major. The conductor, Vassily Nebolsin, found himself without a suitable new work to open the concert, and contacted Shostakovich just days before, who set to work on the overture with great speed, completing it in two days. It is apparently based on Glinka's Russlan and Ludmilla overture, and features the same lively tempo and style of melody. Whilst the style is Shostakovich's own, the piece as a whole uses very conventional classical devices of form and harmony. Some commentators have suggested that the work is a secret celebration of the death of Stalin the year before. The overture was also used in the 1980 Summer Olympics(Games of the XXII Olympiad) in Moscow. The overture begins with a fanfare in the brass, followed by a fast melody in the wind. This is taken up by the strings (in the band version, brass and woodwinds) and reaches a climax with a four-note motif. Suddenly the music reaches a more lyrical melody in the horns and cellos (in the band version, brass), although the tempo remains the same. All this material is developed in Shostakovich's typical style, using both themes in counterpoint, before the fanfare returns and leads to a rousing coda. Smilez Always :) Sunday, January 21, 2007 Yeah!!!... It was Donuts, Decibels, and Down Under special event at Hearts on Fire last friday! Donuts The church had great donuts from Donut House, Donut Factory and Something To Go. Haha, but only took like 1 donut because after that still went for supper. Decibels Lolz... Alvin- "Sound like Piss Porridge in the Pot" Wahaha... Everyone roared with laughter... Then when I finally played the track, we laughed even more...
